Fast hours vs Relax mode
Every image you create uses GPU time. Fast mode generates images quickly and uses up your monthly fast hours. Relax mode is slower, but on Standard and above it does not use your fast hours, so you can generate an unlimited number of images. Extra fast time costs $4 per hour on any plan.
This is the most important difference between Basic and Standard. On Basic, once your 3.3 fast hours are gone, you cannot keep generating. On Standard, you can switch to Relax mode and keep going.
Stealth mode and privacy
By default, images you create are visible in Midjourney’s public gallery. Stealth mode hides them, and it is only available on the Pro and Mega plans. If you create work for clients or unreleased products, this alone is a reason to choose Pro.
Video generation
Midjourney can also turn images into short videos. Basic supports SD video only, while Standard, Pro and Mega support SD and HD. Unlimited SD video in Relax mode is available on Pro and Mega.
